We took on our first allotment plot in June 2021 — a beautiful space with raised beds, accessible paths and mature fruit trees. A few months later, we expanded into the neighbouring plot, giving us room to grow both food and ideas.
Since then, the allotment has become a shared space for learning, wellbeing and connection. We've added:
The people we support play a central role in running the project. Our committee helps decide what we grow, how the space is used and where funding should go. Their choices shape the allotment every day.
The plots now offer a calm, inclusive environment where people can learn new skills, explore healthy eating and enjoy the benefits of being outdoors. We've already harvested an impressive range of fruit, vegetables and flowers — and each year the allotment becomes more productive.
